Position Overview

T12 Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance & Privacy Analyst – Education to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of data privacy frameworks across education-focused organizations. This role will support multiple educational stakeholders and ensure that student data and personally identifiable information (PII) are managed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data privacy, excellent communication skills, and experience guiding organizations through complex data governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Privacy Management: Lead working sessions with educational partners to develop comprehensive data privacy frameworks.  Facilitate and manage data privacy and security incident response plans, including breach notification processes.  Develop protocols for authorizing access to student data and PII for legitimate operational and research purposes.  Ensure all privacy management systems comply with applicable federal and state regulations.

Best Practices Development & Implementation: Direct collaborative sessions to develop, update, and implement data privacy and security best practices.  Establish standardized procedures for data processing across information technology systems and records management infrastructures.  Ensure consistent application of privacy safeguards across educational entities.  Provide ongoing guidance to maintain compliance as data protection requirements evolve.

Annual Student Data Reporting: Prepare comprehensive annual reports detailing the types of student data and PII processed, including analysis of data processing protocols and methodologies.  Document contracted services involving data-sharing with third-party educational service providers.  Outline procedures and justification for selecting internet sites, applications, and digital learning tools used within academic institutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Technical Assistance: Provide expert consultation on data governance policy development, compliance strategies, and implementation plans.  Offer technical assistance to support regulatory compliance and promote best practices across participating educational organizations.  Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders to support data governance consistency while addressing operational differences.  Ensure alignment with state-level educational data management objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Education Administration, Public Policy).

Minimum Experience Requirements (3+ Years)

  • Professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or related work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service focus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in small teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and task management skills.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and present relevant data.

Preferred Qualifications

CIPP or CIPM certification.

Experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) or Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTA).

Experience with privacy laws (FERPA, PPRA, HIPAA, COPPA)
